About Us
Blackdown Nursing Home is a comprehensively equipped 33 bedded private nursing & care home, registered under the Care Standards Act 2000 by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Our focus of care is for older people of either gender who have nursing needs, physical disabilities and who may also have an age-related mental health need or mild confusion, associated with their primary disability. We also accept residents who have an illness which requires nursing, who are under the age of 65. We provide long term, short term, respite, and emergency care.
The home changed ownership in May 2022 and is now run by, Operations Director Marta Broyd, the Registered Manager is Shenda Sayers who has worked at Blackdown Nursing Home for 29 years in different roles.
Marta and Shenda are assisted by Charlene Masocha the Clinical Deputy Manager. Charlene is a qualified RNLD Nurse with plenty of years’ experience. There is a team of fully trained and qualified nurses to assist in the daily running of the home,
