Mill Cottage is situated in Gornal Wood, near Dudley, West Midlands.
The home is a 2 storage house. The downstairs of the house there is a cloak room, a large lounge area, separate day room / lounge, sensory room, kitchen with breakfast area, a utility room that houses both a washing machine and tumble dryer and a downstairs toilet.
Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms, one of these bed rooms has an ensuite, a communal bathroom with toilet and a communal shower with toilet. There is a separate staff sleep-in bedroom and the main office area and management office.
Each bedroom has a nurse on-call system.
Outside of the property there is a large enclosed lawned area. The large lounge can be exited onto a patio area.
Mill Cottage provides care, support and understanding for people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health issues.
Mill Cottage offers opportunities for a stimulating and challenging lifestyle. The home aims to promote potential and offer opportunities to optimize individual’s physical, social, emotional, cultural and spiritual development. The care service supports people to develop their skills to live an independently as possible. We aim to support individuals to develop and progress and hopefully support them to move into their own home or supporting living service.
By creating a homely environment / atmosphere for individuals to live in we hope to promote ordinary living experiences for all. We aim to support individuals to make their own decisions and choices. This includes positive risk taking.
Whenever possible the home promotes / encourages community interaction. We aim to ensure all individuals have leisure opportunities in which they are actively involved.
The home has its own transport which enables individuals to access community facilities more easily.
Mill Cottage is flexible and person centred in our approach. We realise that no two people are the same. Our person centred plans are developed in partnership with the people who we support and with people who are important to them. We aim to build professional relationships with other stakeholder / professionals
