Overview
Twyford House supports up to 12 individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and challenging behaviour. We are proud to have received Advanced status accreditation from the National Autistic Society (NAS).
We promote active participation in activities the people we support enjoy, from sports and leisure to developing new skills at home and within the local community. Everyone is given the chance to try new experiences and progress at their own pace.
Weekly meetings, either as a group or individually, allow individuals to share their thoughts on menu planning, suggest activities, plan trips, and take part in the recruitment of new staff. We aim to empower each person to make decisions about their daily lives, with support from our team when needed.
Our home is bright and spacious, featuring communal areas like a lounge, kitchen, and a specialist sensory room, along with a rear garden for year-round enjoyment. The large kitchen allows the people we support to prepare their own meals with guidance from the chef. It is always accessible, giving individuals the freedom to use it as they wish.
We encourage personalisation of bedrooms, with most rooms offering en-suite facilities to ensure privacy and comfort. Adaptations can be made to support independence where necessary.
