Bradbury House Nursing home is part of Eleanor Healthcare Group, an independent UK healthcare provider established in 1979. Eleanor delivers a wide range of health and social care services, including nursing and residential care homes, home care, live-in care, supported living, day centres, extra care, hospital logistics, Prison social Care and patient transport services.

Located within the Royal British Legion Industries Village in Aylesford, near Maidstone, Bradbury House is a purpose-built nursing home supporting older people with a variety of care needs. The home has 50 private bedrooms with en-suite facilities and provides an environment designed to promote safety, comfort, dignity and a sense of belonging. Bradbury House provides nursing care, specialist dementia care, respite stays, and palliative and end-of-life care.

The team also supports people living with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the effects of a stroke. Care is planned around each resident’s health, abilities, routines, preferences and personal history.
Before a resident moves into the home, the team completes an assessment to understand the type and level of support required. An individual care plan is then developed with the resident and, where appropriate, their family or representative. Care plans are reviewed regularly and updated whenever a person’s needs or circumstances change. Families are encouraged to remain involved and maintain regular communication with the team.

Dementia care at Bradbury House focuses on creating familiarity, reassurance and meaningful engagement for people experiencing memory loss or changes in cognition. Staff take time to understand each resident as an individual, including their interests, important relationships, previous occupations, routines and life experiences. The home can also work with families to create digital life stories containing photographs, music, videos, voice recordings and personal memories. This information helps staff develop more meaningful conversations, activities and moments of comfort that reflect the resident’s identity and experiences.

Residents can choose from a varied programme of activities intended to support their physical, emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing. Activities may include arts and crafts, gentle exercise, bingo, music, reminiscence sessions, therapy-dog visits and time outdoors. Participation is based on personal choice, and residents may also spend time relaxing privately or socialising with others.
Bradbury House has comfortable communal areas, a cinema room and outdoor spaces that can be used for relaxation and activities. The landscaped grounds include a courtyard garden and woodland walk, giving residents opportunities to enjoy fresh air and nature in a secure setting.

Meals are prepared in the home using fresh ingredients, with individual dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs taken into account. Alternative choices can be provided where possible, and residents receive the appropriate assistance to make mealtimes comfortable and enjoyable.
The team supports residents to retain as much independence as possible while providing help with personal care, mobility, medication, health monitoring and everyday activities. Relatives and friends are welcomed, and the admissions team is available to guide families through enquiries, assessments and the transition into the home.
